Hyperthogonal structure was invented by Ted Nelson under the name ZigZag™. It models a lattice of cells connected on right angles in 2 or more dimensions. Each cell may have at most one "previous" and "next" neighbor in each dimension. Each cell appears only once in a given dimension. Hyperthogonal structure viewers (like this one!) let you choose which dimensions to view on the X and Y axes of the computer screen, navigate the graph, create/update/delete cells and links, and manage the set of dimensions.
Online resources:Left and right windows provide independent views of the same graph. Left has a green cursor and right has a blue cursor. The green/blue textareas let you edit the cell at green/blue cursor. The first line of the textarea is shown as the cell title.
